I am Jonnique Adjmul, a Black female therapist in Atlanta who is licensed to provide therapy to the residents of Georgia and Florida, and the founder of Humble Reflections Counseling, LLC. I believe that every individual has the potential for positive outcomes to occur more frequently in their lives, and that is what I strive for every day in my private practice. At times, people can get bogged down by what I like to call “daily clutter,” and it can be helpful to have the help of an objective person who listens and helps you make sense of it all. On the other side of it, you feel renewed and ready to take life head-on.
Born in Jamaica, and then raised in the United States from the age of 11, I provide a unique perspective on the Afro-Caribbean and Black American issues women face. I work with all women of color who are experiencing elevated anxiety and have a hard time achieving a balance between work and life and help them find relief as well as healthier ways to resolve their symptoms. I help women who struggle with social anxiety and have a hard time making friends or maintaining friendships and other relationships. Women who feel stuck when it comes to navigating romance learn how to have healthier, long-lasting relationships and set more firm boundaries after having therapy with me. I work with women who struggle with intense nightmares, flashbacks, and constant worry or fear caused by traumatic distress, and I help them to find their way out of the darkness and into the light. If adjusting to life changes such as moving, a change in career or a new addition to the family is causing you distress, I will teach you the skills you need to improve your ability to adapt and cope in a healthy way. You can expect a mindful and holistic approach in our sessions, which may include techniques from ‘acceptance and commitment therapy,’ ‘choice theory,’ ‘solution-focused therapy,’ ‘narrative therapy,’ meditation, yoga, and hypnotherapy.
My sessions are all rendered online so you can receive therapy at your convenience and start living the life you desire sooner than later. Although I may provide group therapy options, our sessions are typically conducted on a one-on-one basis. Online/virtual counseling sessions are private, secure, and conveniently available to clients residing in the states of Florida and Georgia, US. I am not accepting clients residing outside of the United States at this time. In order to provide you with the guidance you deserve, I am committed to creating a warm, accepting, and non-shaming environment for you to safely explore the parts of yourself that you want to grow and nurture while discarding behaviors and beliefs that cause distress in your life.
I graduated from Nova Southeastern University in Davie, FL with a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling, and I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. I am certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), and nationally certified in hypnotherapy.
My motto is to “reflect a life you admire.” When you reflect a life you admire, you feel confident and comfortable looking in the mirror to find a person who is enough, who is lovable, and who feels ready and able to overcome any challenges that present. When others look at you, they will see the love, respect, and confidence radiating from you like the brightest star in their dark sky. In turn, they will feel comfortable being in and around your welcoming light trouve. Connect with me today so we can discuss your troubles and explore effective solutions toward the life you will admire.
See you soon!
