When women of color come together that’s when the magic happens!
Committing to improving and maintaining our own wellness in community means committing to embracing discomfort, doing something different, giving consistent effort, and always looking within. It seems uncomfortable at first to be in community and potentially open up with strangers. However, there is strength and growth in numbers. With group sessions for women of color, my goal is to eliminate these unhelpful and conditioned beliefs that says we “should” feel ashamed to share a space with others. I intend to provide a safe space in which you can instead relate to others who are on a similar path, give and receive emotional support, learn, spread light, and continue to grow.
At Humble Reflections Counseling, groups are designed with you in mind. The topics are chosen intentionally, and the groups are geared toward breaking the stigma around therapy in the black community as well as bringing great individuals like you together to find strength in community and support.
Disclaimer: Group therapy is not, and should not be used as, a substitute for professional psychotherapy services. It can and may be used as a helpful tool to aid you along your wellness journey. In fact, it is recommended for use in conjunction with psychotherapy and/or alternative forms of holistic treatment.
